Heroes

Everyone I know has some kind of hero they admire.

I'm not one of those people.

I learned at a very young age anyone you lookup to has done something that makes them more human. To me that meant they hurt someone, whether they did it on purpose or not, I didn't know.

I had looked for a hero in history, yet I couldn't find anyone I admired enough to call a "hero" because I didn't want to be like any of them. I looked at my parents, my friends' parents, other adults- and I still was unable to find one person I wanted to be like.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cartoonist for Disney. I wanted to have a paid internship and travel. I had a full ride to art school and the doors were opening for me at just fifteen years old.

About six months later, I met my first boyfriend who later became my ex husband. He was toxic, abusive, and controlling to say the least. Because of the choices I made with him, I let go of my dreams and started a new path.

I was now a barely 20 year old divorce' with two babies under two. I no longer had time for college because I had to work to pay rent, buy food and diapers, and be an adult.

The struggle was real.

I went through depression, gained a ton of weight. Then I found myself returning to my spirituality very slowly. I started walking my dog after dinner and putting my kids to bed. I meditated every morning. Nap time I would read books. I found time to find myself and become a person I could live with.

I accepted being a single mother. I didn't date because I felt I didn't need a man for anything except the occasional bedtime fling. I was responsible, chose a partner who I respected and he respected me. We had boundries and limits. He wasn't allowed to let anyone know we were together, we chose to have only eachother as a sexual partner. We used protection and respected each other.

After a while that arrangement didn't work for him any longer, yet I couldn't give him more. We were and still are friends. He helped me to realize not all men are bad, Sex isn't always painful, and I deserve to feel loved unconditionally.

That unconditional love was something I never felt before I was a mother. I learned I didn't love him the way you love someone you want to spend your life with and we mutually broke up when neither of us was the person the other needed.

Another year of self discovery, reconnecting with myself and becoming content with my identity, I found myself working 2 full-time jobs and one part-time. I had no time for my kids and just enough money to pay bills, have food, and a tiny bit saved for a "rainy day."

I had found myself feeling numb as a seemingly happy single mother of two, working seven days a week, and having no time for those two people who meant the most to me. I was spiritual, and I was one with the goddess. Yet something was missing.

I was proud of the person I had become and all I went through.

One day my brother's friend fell on my four year old son, breaking his femur. A week later, I finally had a beautiful Sunday off from all my jobs. This day was my first day off in months and I decided I was spending it with my children doing something fun. This day changed my life forever.

I met a man who changed my view of being happy.

Here I am almost eleven years later with my best friend and partner in life. We have three, almost four children together. Including the two from my "before I met him" life.

Through that journey, I became my own hero and it paid off for me.

Since that life, I have met extraordinary people. People I am proud to call my family.

I have stood my ground as to who I am. I inspire others to do the same. I have helped my partner stop feeling badly for being human and having faults. He has gone from being unsure of hisabilities, to bring just as strong, if not stronger than I am.

He's my best friend. He's a true hero to us. He gave my children a father and dad, he returned their mother. Since that day, I work only on school days. We do things together as a family as often as possible. We live a life I never thought possible.

Witchy.woman.83 on Instagram!

I know I don't blog as often as I'd truly like to. I have an Instagram I usually post daily. Anything from a cute meme to something helpful. I also share the occasional personal photos.

Every day at my house there's something witchy happening.

If you're interested, check out @witchy.woman.83 on Instagram.

I try to post a few in the morning then limit myself during the day. Sometimes I come across something that makes me laugh and I can't resist posting right away.

Have a beautiful day!

Witch On A Budget

Most of us witches are on a budget. Anything from a limited income or having a family and our expenses and more important items come first.

If you're new and looking for a place to start your journey, where do you start?

I say start by reading. There are a ton of books available through your library, online and friends. If your library is missing the books you're after, check the online catalogue and go from there.

There are also tons of resources online to help you get started.

Don't buy books first hand. EBay and Amazon have great sales on used books and also secondhand shops.

Many items you can find online inexpensively or you can chose pay big bucks for basically the same items.

What do you need to get started in witchcraft? It really depends on your goals and starting point.

I'm a firm believer in only paying for the necessities. There are groups out there that you can pay to do their "witch course" that gives you an "in" to their coven. Any good coven will allow you to join for free. The ones you pay for is really just a scheme, in my opinion. Sure it's a fast track for information, but when you have 30-100+ people joining your coven at $500-800/each once a year, you have enough of an income for a years worth of a real job. It makes me angry... But to each witch their own.

One person's path is not the same as another.  What you're willing to pay is up to you.

I've spent most of my money on books over the years, most of them 75% off. Then is my crystals. I have an enormous collection. I get tools from tag sales and clearance sections.

I personally refuse to allow my craft to bankrupt me.

There are a few places you can go to and join their "year and a day" workshop to join their coven or have the tools to go out on your own after the year. Those you'll find by going to a local metaphysical store. Look online for "witch shops" and I'm sure you'll find something near you. Talk to the owners and they'll help direct you where you need to go or what to do. They do cost money, but they give you tools and spell ingredients. You will likely have to purchase your perminate tools later, but they give you pages for your BOS. (Book of shadows)

There is a legal church that has a year and a day program. They send you a monthly package and it's 30-50/month I think... I don't recall... I did look into it and I'm willing to share their information. Look up "the awareness shop" in NY. Their website has all that information and it gets shipped to your door.

Let me repeat, you do not <I>have</I> to pay for a year and a day program to become a witch. You can study and dedicate yourself.

I was 13 years old when I started following my path. I spent 2 years learning and absorbing all the information I could. I decided my spiritual path when I was 15 and started on my "year and a day" path using only what I could get my hands on without any outside help.

My parents are both Christian. That's their spiritual path, this is mine.

By the time I was 16, I was officially a witch. I'm now in my mid 30s.

I live my journey daily. I meditate. I listen to my intuition. I have learned I come from a long line of witches that I never knew,  until quite recently.

My whole point writing today, was to share the real cost of becoming a witch and practicing witchcraft.

Most spells can be done with very little. A piece of paper and a pen, a tea light candle, salt, or just yourself.

The most important thing you need is education before you start performing magic.

Freeze Out Spell

I recently received an email requesting information about a spell to freeze someone out of their life.

For this you can do a Freeze out spell.

There are complicated and simple versions of this across the internet.

You need
- a container you can put objects in with water to freeze
- an object representing the person you want out of your life. (For instance; a piece of paper with their name written, a photo of them, an object they touched)

You can add objects depending on your end goal. For my personal use, a small mason jar or sandwich bag make a great container.  It's simple and causes no harm.

Place the paper with their name written into the baggie, fill with water. Visualize your intent, and say something to the effect of "(name of person) I banish you from my life. I banish you from causing harm to my family and my life."

Freeze the bag with the name inside for a long time. 1+ weeks maybe a month or more... How ever long it takes.

When you're spell is done, you can dispose of your spell in a few ways.
1- toss it in the trash and throw it away
2- let it thaw and flush the contents down the toilet (assuming it's just water and a tiny piece of paper)
3- bury the jar in your yard

I hope this helps

Sometimes Life Sucks

You know, sometimes life sucks! No matter what you do, how hard you work, how much effort you put towards something- life doesn't always turn out the way you had it planned. So, that means it sucks. You can work 40+ hours a week, making as much money as your boss will allow you to get paid, and it still isn't enough. Bill collectors keep calling, and Christmas is quickly approaching. Everyone wants something, yet no one is willing to help you.

That's where we are right now. I'm not complaining. I work all the time. I rarely see my family. When I do, it's usually because someone did something and I'm the person who has to jump to save the day. I should be used to it after a lifetime of being the saver in the family. Unfortunately, not the money-saving kind of saver... just the day saver. I can turn a bad day around. I can make a sad person happy. I can bring light to the tunnel. Sure, it will likely burn out, since I'm not an everlasting flame myself.

I do the best I can. My SO does the same. This year, Christmas will be thinner than last year. Bills are piling up. Collection calls are coming in. Sure, we know we'll have money again when tax season arrives. But until then? We're likely going to be suffering. I make enough money for food and some fun stuff. When we need socks and underwear, I always find a way. My SO? He works and pays the bills. Come to find out, he hasn't been paying all of them because he's been skipping a few here and there. Our lights were turned off last month because I had no idea the bill was over $1,000.00 Somehow, he paid it, and we've been trying to catch up on the rest of the stuff since.

I owe $2,000 on credit cards. I'm trying to pay those off, as well as keep the family happy. I'm trying to make soap to sell, but getting that going isn't easy. I want to get paid to do things I enjoy, but I didn't know anyone to get me into that door. I want a better paying job with better hours, to keep me out of the driver's seat. Physically.

One day at a time.

Somethings you just have to believe life is going to help you with. There are always ups and downs. I make barely $25,000 yearly. That is nowhere near enough to live on. Somehow we always make it.

I need more money, More time, More everything. I need to find a way to get things to turn around and get us out of this horrible state of depression. Some how, some way.

I don't even know if I'll have anything under the tree for my 3 kids, less than 2 weeks away now.

Have Faith

Many religious groups talk about having faith. Being pagan I share the concept although it's having faith in the universe.
Last spring I lost $10 when I went to the gym and dropped my id. A few days later, my partner went out to get his usual morning coffee and money fell out of his pocket in the truck. The $10 bill was gone. I had faith that there must have been someone in the world that really needed that money.
Now we're hurting for money. This morning, going about my usual day, I found a beat up $20 bill on the ground.
It just means the universe thought I could use it now, and someone else needed it before.

I always try to remember when I am forced to go without, it is just the way the Goddess and God want it to be.

I have this wonderful opportunity to sell my handmade soaps in a store. I finally found my packaging that I really like. Of course, I cannot easily find the paper I want to use for my wrap. Although, I did get the stickers! One step at a time!

In the meanwhile, I have an etsy shop. I have to make more soap, order more labels, and get the paper so I can get my soap into the store front I have been offered. Now's the time to act!

Witchy.Woman.83 on Instagram

Six weeks ago I started an Instagram account for all my witch themed images. I felt like my personal account was getting a bit more confusing than I wanted. I also want a ton of followers and none that can see pictures of my family.
This account started when I took a bunch of informational images I found useful to the witch community and shared them. Now I'm slowly getting a little more personal. I started posting images of crystals with different lights to help you identify your own, and putting in a description of the stones. I also do 3 card tarot (same basic layout) asking how my day will be. I don't do this every day, and sometimes the cards are not layed out "correctly." But... The information is there to help learn the cards and share what images each tarot deck has.
I currently own 10+ tarot/oracle decks, and countless gemstones and crystals. The gemstone photos will likely take a long while for me to share all of them since I'm limiting myself to one per day. (Can I schedule them to post later if I create a few at once? I will look into that)
If you have time, please go check out my Instagram. I'm sure it will be a little more fun than my blog.
Have a beautiful day.

Friday The Thirteenth

Friday the thirteenth can be a good or bad day depending upon the power you give it.
For me personally, its usually a good day.
Yesterday I woke up for work feeling energized before my alarm went off. I accomplished more than I expected to in the time I had between work. I think I got into overtime again in my "part time job." My ex made a childsupport payment. <I>he's a bit of a deadbeat father...</I> my honey and I had a great night together and got to visit without feeling exhausted after working 6am-8pm for each of us.
Just a whole bunch of little things that added up to a good day.
My partner and best friend, would say the day was not so good for him. He stepped in doggy poo for the first time in 6+ years. He smacked his head on the cabinet, got a splinter... All minor things that could have ruined his day until he realized what the day was and I fixed his outlook.
Friday the thirteenth is special for witches because there are 13 full moons every year. 13 is the "perfect" coven size. Friday is for the goddess Freya. I'm sure there's much more in the reasoning for the day to be magical.
Many people I know and care about just think of nightmare on elm street when its Friday the thirteenth.
It all depends on your viewpoint.

I hope you had a blessed Friday the thirteenth.

Kneeling NFL Players

I'm sure everyone in the US have heard or seen the NFL players who are kneeling during the national anthem.
I am angry about their choice to disrespect our country.
People have their lives so that we, as Americans, can sit home watching NFL games, or believing in our own things. People died so that black people wouldn't be slaves! So women could have equal rights as men.
Yet there are people who don't know what the national anthem represents. There are people who don't understand the price people have paid to give us the freedoms we have today.
If millions of people didn't fight the wars they have, many giving their lives- I wouldn't be free to write this blog. I wouldn't be able to say "I dont believe in Christ" and I wouldn't be able to openly say I don't have faith in Christianity. For those simple thoughts, I could be hung, or shot.
Men and women gave their lives for people like us to do what we want to do. My granddaddy was in world war 2. He lost many friends to the war. My uncles fought in Vietnam. They lost their friends! My friends fought in Iraq. The few who made it home are changed!
They gave up their lives for us! So we could openly say we don't like our president, or to have religious beliefs of our own. For men, women, black, white, gay or straight to have equal rights.
And how does the NFL players show their respect for the soldiers who lost their lives and gave up everything for us? They kneel. They say they don't like our country so the best thing they can do is kneel during the national anthem and show all those generations before us what kind of asshole our country has become.
In my opinion- all those who kneel during the national anthem, should be forced into the service and made to fight at least one tour.
Those men need to understand what that song represents.
When I was a kid we spent 2 or 3 months going over WWII and reinacting it. We drew cards with our names and descriptions of the people we were to become during that time. I was a white soldier. If we were really who we were except in the 40s, I'd have been a nurse.
The point is- we spent months learning about those people who gave their lives for us. We dissected the national anthem. We learned the meaning.
And now? My son is 14, he had no idea what the words are or what the song represents. He didn't understand why I would have such strong feelings.
And those men, kneeling? Its like they're spitting on our dead soldiers. Stabbing the veterans in the back.
I can only hope our future generations learn the importance of the soldiers and what they've given since the current 20-30something people obviously don't get it.

Saying Goodbye

Last week I drove 22 hours to get my mother and myself to my grandmother's wake and funeral. I haven't been there in over twenty years.
I love and miss all my family and I honestly wish that was a trip that could last much longer and under better circumstances.
Now I'm hoping I can bring my children and partner there to meet the people who helped give me happy memories during my childhood.
These are the people who taught me to work hard for what I want and everything will fall in place.
The drove home took us 37 hours. It was much more difficult to return home when both places feel like I belong.

I left a piece of me down south. I am broken.

Fires & Floods

People are saying "God is mad at us!" because the country is in turmoil. The floods we have now are the same that our ancestors had before electricity. They moved and didn't have any permanent housing with very little to move. If rains were coming in larger amounts, they moved further inland. Many people still died.
The fires in the northwest part of our country started from a firework. You cannot blame the gods on that one.
The gods are not angry, they're challenging us. It's up to the people to decide how to take it. All the horrible racist stuff happened, then a flood. Take that as a sign! We need to love one another. We need to take responsibility for the things we have done and admit when we have screwed up.
I wish there was some way to take the flood waters from Texas and spread it across the flames in the northwestern part of our country.
I'm worried if a ton of people does rain spells for that area, it's possible for them to go from surrounded by fire to floods. I don't want to see that happen. I also don't want all those people being directly affected to be hurt.
I hope only the best for everyone currently in danger from floods and fire.

Witchy Lady Selling Soap Locally!

I am really excited!

Today I found out that the pharmacy about 8 miles from me, wants to sell my homemade soaps! Isn't that great?! Now I have to meet with the manager and get all the details and figure out how this arrangement will work. I took the few bars I sold in person off my etsy site, and now? I have to make more!

I am a very happy witch today.

I met with a friend of mine that has the good brain project, and she connected me with her local seller. That's how I got my butt into a store! I have a space! I'm really excited! I really hope they move for us. This is going to be great! I would love to stop driving a school bus because I have to make soaps to fill shelves instead. It's just a whole lot more fun for me, and a lot less stressful. I'd be able to help at schools and participate more often.

Of course, for now, I'd keep my bus route because I don't trust people easily, and I really do love the children I drive currently. One day, I'll stop the day job. For now, I'm happy. And REALLY Looking forward to seeing these soaps sell. <3

Witch Shops

Over the past twenty years or so, I have gone into possibly hundreds of witch shops. None of them are exactly the same.

There's one place that changes ownershop every few years. It has been in its location close to a decade. I really loved going under the most recent owner (I'll call her L), sadly she had some major life issues and wasn't able to give her store the attention it required and was forced to sell. That means it went to an owner that reconnected the store with the owner before her. The entire atmosphere during the second precious owner was horrible. The woman (who I will not name) is predidous towards witches who are not in her coven or follow her exact path. She doesn't acknowledge her witchism or the negativity she gives off. I haven't been back since the shop has returned to her hands.

During the short time L had it, she gave the shop a total face lift. It had the atmosphere of a coffee shop, you could bring in a drink and snacks then just hang out and visit. It didn't matter if you bought anything or how long you have been traveling on your path. The exact path you follow didn't matter.

Over an hour drive to go visit the store, and I would do it just to visit the lovely, welcoming shop.

Unfortunately for me, the closest witch shops are over an hour drive from my house, and none of them are near one another. If I want to go to a store, I have to plan an entire day trip to that area.

This weekend I'm going to another shop I found over the past year. Its got a cool atmosphere and had a large collection of tarot cards. They have samples of just about every deck they carry available to look at. If you're ever in Poughkeepsie New York, go check out the Dreaming Goddess.  They carry many crystals I haven't seen in other shops. The first time I went there I got a piece of red coral. It was very cool.

I have a crystal shop that's much closer to me. They carry crystals and many objects for multiple paths. I don't see it as a witch shop. The staff are awesome and when looking for crystals, gems, sage, and other items, its one of my favorite places. When I need to talk to someone, or have a great need of grounding myself, I go to Great Barrington, Massachusetts and go into Crystal Essence.

If you're looking for a church like shop, head back to New York. The Awareness Shop has a very cool store, the purple house comes off as magical and every part of the store holds the same positive energy. They have a year and a day subscription you can order that includes monthly magical shipments. They have weekely tea parties in store and online you can Skype along with them. The first time I went in, I bought their "Circle in a Box" CD, and I'm glad I did. Check it out, its available through iTunes also.

My state has one more shop that has been around for over a decade. Sadly, it keeps moving and by the time I get the opportunity to go check their store out, they've moved again. Their hours usually stink and I never know if I'm going to have the time to locate their shop and look around beforw they close.

When I went to Salem, Massachusetts with my family, I found tons of shops- for those alone I would love to return soon. They have stores for real witches and some for the tourist witches. All were great fun to visit.

None of these places know about my blog, and I have no ties to any of them. If you check them out based on this blog, that's great! I'm glad you gave them a chance and I truly hope you enjoy them.

One day I would love to open my own witch shop. Something that reflects all of the good things from all the shops I've fallen in love with over my lifetime.

One day I want to open a witch shop/ tea parlor type thing. I will bake homemade cookies before the store opens and make jewelry, soaps, or runes after I close at night. I'll also offer consignment opportunities for local witches and pagans alike.

Witchy Mom Watching Football

I am enjoying a beautifully hot day watching my freshman play his favorite sport. I feel blessed to have the sun on my skin for one more afternoon before I'm officially back to work driving a school bus.

I dressed for slightly cooler weather thinking today was going to be showers on and off. My darn weather app lied. Once we hit 10 am, it was hot and beautiful. Now I'm stuck in pants and a hotter than usual shirt.

I'm going to ignore the feeling of being slightly overheated and enjoy the what I drove here for. 😘

It's hard to feel down or depressed when you're outside under the sun.

Thank the God & Goddess for a beautiful day!

Witch Made Treasures

Blessings All,

I created an Etsy shop today and I'm currently working on my inventory. I have just one item listed as of today, August 19, 2017- The day I created and launched my shop.

I have made many things over the years and this will be my first attempt to selling them online. I'll be making runes I also plan to sell on Etsy.

This is my preview for now. I'll let you know what happens further in time. Right now, I'm working on writing here regularly, and building my Etsy shop inventory.

In my private life, I have work, kids, sports, the mom thing, and I'm actively trying to improve my life, including but not limited to losing weight and getting fit.

I hope you have a glorious day and can take a minute to check out my Etsy shop.

Solar Eclipse August 2017

August 21, 2017 there is a Solar eclipse able to be seen from the US. This doesn't happen very often. In our part of the country we will only be able to see about two thirds of the eclipse. This only means that my photos will be almost nothing in comparison to the many people in the part of our country that can see the total eclipse.

We will be watching from one of the mountains in our neck of the woods and I plan to bring my camera and kids. I ordered some eclipse glasses that I'll probably hold on to for the next forty years or so, until the next one.

I remember when we were kids, in elementary school, watching a solar eclipse from our school yard. It was really neat. Now my 6 year old will get a chance to see one also. If it were possible, I'd have a hand-fasting ceremony with my man during the eclipse.

It is a very magical event. Even those people who "don't believe in magic" still believe in magical properties of an eclipse.

Please feel free to post your pictures from the eclipse to this post.

(Update after The Eclipse)
We watched the eclipse in Connecticut from a field on top of a mountain with my kids and my mother in law. It was awe inspiring. We wore the special glasses meant for the eclipse and though we didn't get to see a full 100% at it's peak, we did get to watch it up to about 68% and it was still really cool.

This is a moment I believe my children will remember for many years, possibly for their entire lives.

I did get some great pictures sent to me from our cousin in Oregon. I'm so glad we have family all over the country that can share in the amazing parts of life and the magic in nature.

Our Trip To Salem

We just got home from a short trip to Salem, MA.

It was quite fun. If you have money to go, please take time. Just remember it is a tourist trap. I brought my partner and our three kids because none of them have been, and I enjoyed my trip over a decade ago.

We went out there Thursday and went on a Ghost Tour where our tour guide brought us around town telling us about deaths and murders in Salem and possible hauntings around town.  I decided to go with staying on the heritage trail on Friday and stopping into each shop because that is what I really wanted to experience.

There are a ton of tour choices and the guides will tell you all about the town and what happened. The museums are pretty good too, if you have that kind of money to experience those also. The shops have much of the same items, though if you're careful and keep an eye out and look through out the entire town, you can find really unique items. I found an adorable pewter set of the Lord and Lady to go onto my altar.

It's funny, I've been studying witchcraft for over twenty years and this is the first time I've found statues of the God and Goddess that I really love and want on my altar.

I also finally got the chance to hold a deck of gypsy cards in my hand to see if I really wanted to take them home.

We stopped at the Witchcraft Victim Memorial in Danvers and discovered the Rebecca Nurse House. If we go back, we'll be making a stop there. According to the information I had available, it is $8 for adults, and $4 for teenagers. Kids under 10 I think are free. We didn't have enough time to stop there, though it has been added to my bucket list.

The Witch house is about $10-12/per person and it's a self guided tour.

I decided to spend the time we had trying to remain under budget and I spent 1/3 of the amount of money I had planned to spend on our trip by being so careful. There is a parking garage by the harbor that costs $0.25/hour and it makes parking much less expensive and the walk to everything else isn't much more.

Remember one thing for sure, if you're going to Salem, make sure you get there early. Most of the shops don't open until 10 or 11, but parking fills up by 9:30 and the traffic is horrible. I don't want to see what it's like in October.

We also chose to bring our dogs, and the hotel we stayed at made that possible. It also added to our choice of not going through museums or doing too many tours.

Over all, I am happy with my family's experience seeing Salem for their first time.

The next time I go, I'm going to plan on doing more tours or museum trips. Expect to pay about $20/person or anything really outstanding there. If you plan your trip with expectations to spend a whole lot more than you want to, it makes it much easier on your wallet when you're paying out the nose.

Most of the cobble stone walks have been redone, and they're doing a lot of construction in the area, which I believe did add to the traffic.

If you're looking for a bunch of witch shops to check out, this is a fun town. If you want history that doesn't break the bank, aim for visiting nearby towns like Danvers.

Witches Runes

I have been looking for a long time for the perfect set of witches runes to use.

Tomorrow my plan is to make two sets. One for me, and one to sell. I have an ebay account, but I never sell anything. Why not try it? They're going to be purple with purple glitter, and I'm not sure what color I'll be making the imprints yet. I have made regular runes before, out of wood, but I want to make them out of polymer clay. I have a beautiful set of bone runes I love and I search for a long time to find.

Now, I'm finally making witches runes.

The Witches Runes are different from the Elder Futhark Runes in that the Witches Runes are not an alphabet. The Witches Runes are instead a series of symbols that can be used in divination. There are different versions of the Witches Runes, one uses 8 symbols, another uses 10 symbols and another one uses 13 symbols. You cast the Witches Runes the same way you would Runes.

I'm going to make the 13 set. Here's a link to a site you can get more information about Witches Runes. I've got a book also, and I've spent years researching different sites before deciding I'll make the set myself.

Circle In A Box

A few months ago I went to a place in Poughkeepsie New York, called The Awareness Shop. They're a small store with lots to offer. It's one of the only federally seen Wiccan Churches. I actually think there are only two in the USA.

When I was there I noticed a few things. They have these notebooks on their shelf for a Book of Shadows. It's actually a year long subscription you can sign up for to receive everything you need to complete your own BOS. They send you kits every month, depending upon what you decide you want to get. The kits have spell supplies to make sure you're able to participate in along with them.

I haven't signed up for it myself because it's currently out of my price range, and I do my own thing. Eventually I would love to join a coven and have more people who share my spiritual beliefs in my circle.

Also while I was there, I discovered they have this AWESOME supply of incense and herbs I never heard of. Their online shop is almost as good as their store. They recorded a CD "Circle in a box" and you can find it on iTunes! Totally worth the money if you need help working your magic and want a guide. Please, don't fall asleep listening to it, funny things have happened to me.

I fell asleep listening to this CD and in my dream, I cut my hand. I woke up with a tiny cut in the same place on my hand.

I love stopping at different witch shops around me. Unfortunately, the closest shops are all over a ninety-minute drive from my home, and I don't get to go as often as I would like.

In mid-August, we're going to go to Salem, MA and I'll try to make notes of the shops I stop in. Until my next entry, Have a glorious day.

Cards Against Humanity

By now everyone has to of herd of this game. I'm going to assume you have too. If not, google it, you will find out what it is. It is NOT a game meant for kids. This is a teen/adult game. Best with adults, alcohol, and all great friends.

I have played twice so far. It's my partner's favorite game. Today I found they just released a "period pack" which I assume will be an amusing addition.

The reason I'm writing?

I honestly want to create some Wiccan/Pagan themed cards. I am hoping they will be just as amusing, or more, than the already made cards. I will have 50 cards- they're "fill in the blank" usually with a noun. So, I have to get playing to decide what I want to do to fill in my cards and make this real witchy fun.

I think I'll add something about skiclad women dancing. LOL

I have a while before I have to create them. I will print them from my computer onto sticky paper and put it on the cards so that it doesn't look messy when we play. I want it to appear that each card is the exact same, and they all remain easy to read.

This is what happens when your partner plays at his friend's house all the time.. You discover there actually is a game out there that is fun, inappropriate, and you don't mind playing sober. <i>I'm the only one of us who doesn't drink- except recently when my partner decided to cut back.</i>

My life is beginning to be something out of a fairy tale. I cannot complain. Next up, I'm going to bring my spirituality back into play and enjoy everything in my life to the fullest.
